Charlaine Harris is a celebrated novelist with a career spanning over 25 years. Residing in Arkansas, the Sookie Stackhouse series was launched in 2001 with Dead Until Dark and consists of nine novels (plus a number of short stories) including the hotly anticipated Dead and Gone due in May 2009. Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She’s quiet, keeps to herself and doesn’t get out much – not because she’s not pretty – she’s a very cute bubbly blonde – or not interested in a social life.
