Posted on December 20th, 2009 by admin in eBook Readers

Hot on the heels of the Australian Kindle, the latest ebook reader to hit the market in Australia is the BeBook. On sale now at the Coop Bookshop and online it is the first serious challenger to the popular Kindle. We’ve been putting the mini version through its paces over the past 2 weeks and have compiled this buyers guide.

The BeBook embraces openness – in that it supports a huge number of ebook standards and does not tie you down to buying your ebooks through only one store. Unlike the Kindle, the BeBook is expandable, up to 16GB using standard SD cards enabling you to store literally thousands of book on the one device. There are also two sizes available – the 5 inch for $389 and the 6 inch for $499

Overall the BeBook is a very good eBook Reader, whilst not having the design flair of the Kindle it is worth serious consideration if you are shopping for an eBook Reader.
