Australian Kindle Now With 85% Better Battery Life and Native PDF Support

Amazon.com today announced today that after a 6 month effort that the Kindle will feature battery life of up to seven days with wireless turned on, a huge improvement from the previous battery life of four days. Battery life with wireless turned off remains at up to two weeks.

They also announced that the Kindle now has a built-in native PDF reader that enables Kindle customers to read professional and personal documents in their original PDF format without conversion.

You will also be also able to simply email a PDF document to you customer@kindle.com email address and it will be synched the next time you connect your Kindle. PDFs can also be converted to the Kindle format by including “Convert” in the subject line of the e-mail.

Australian Kindle users can expect their Kindles to be updated shortly via wireless.
