Amazon Releases Kindle PC Application

Posted on November 11th, 2009 by admin in Kindle

Amazon.com has just released a free e-book reader application for Windows PCs. The Kindle for PC application allows Amazon customers to read Kindle books on their Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines. Mac fans will have to wit for now- but a Mac application is on the way.

As well as of working with Amazon’s Kindle e-book format, the Kindle for PC application can also display e-books in the MOBI (.mobi) file format.

Whilst reading books on a PC screen is very different and it not going to be nearly as comfy lugging a laptop around to the e-ink screen of the Australian Kindle if you are considering buying the new Aussie Kindle then this may be a risk free first step.

You can download Kindle for PC now!
